What a day the Law family have had together today... We started off with a plan to head to Hahndorf this morning to go strawberry picking at Beerenberg. After sleeping in late (much needed!!) and a late breakfast we hit the road in fine spirits only to discover 50 million other people had the same idea as us on this glorious Monday so early on in 2017. We continued driving, eyes peeled as we saw the people pouring in and out of other Hahndorf tourist destinations. With my nose in our street directory I then frantically searched for a plan C rattling off a few sites I recalled fondly from childhood.
After a quick stop at Lovell's bakery for a yummy pie and doughnut we were energised for a quick stop at Melba's Chocolate Factory in Woodside, followed by a climb up the worlds largest rocking horse (aptly named The Big Rocking Horse), took a moment to share a few secrets at the Whispering Wall and finally had a clamber over the wooden creatures at Mount Torrens.
All of these places both my wife and I remember fondly from our own family trips around South Australia. It was great to have the chance today to create new memories with my own family in these same places.
Love these guys...
