Animals in the Clouds

On the way out to Jervois tonight I looked skyward and saw a sight that reminded me of a Graeme Base book. Across the horizon I saw a seahorse chasing a graceful dragon, the curves of the skyscape of cloud copying exactly the shape of a gracefully floating seahorse what looked like a few meters away was a sleek lizard shape with what resembled butterfly wings. Closer to Wellington there were pigs being ridden by knights (one had a raised lance and the other a sword and odd shaped shield).

The best beast though was when we swung past Puzzle Park where a couple of bonfires burned and then turned to the left and headed for home. There to the far left was a majestic lion with full mane roaring at the sky.

And some say they only see clouds... I say they aren't really looking...
